Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani confirmed, today, Thursday, his welcome of the decision of the International Criminal Court to consider the Prime Minister of the entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his former Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, war criminals.

Al-Mashhadani said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We in Iraq greatly welcome the decision of the International Criminal Court to consider the Prime Minister of the Zionist entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his former Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, war criminals, and to issue arrest warrants against them, binding and legal, for the war crimes and genocide they committed against our people in Gaza, after October 7, 2023."

Al-Mashhadani added, "We consider this decision, although a symbolic step, to represent a glimmer of hope towards achieving international justice against the perpetrators of war crimes, genocide, displacement, starvation and unlawful execution against humanity," indicating that "the blood of innocent children, women and civilians who died in Gaza from burning, starvation, displacement and arbitrary executions will not go in vain, and the court's decision reflects the responsibility of the international community and international law towards holding accountable the Zionist perpetrators who practised genocide and war crimes in Gaza and Lebanon."

Al-Mashhadani stressed, "We urge the countries that signed the Rome Statute to respect the court's decisions and implement arrest warrants against these criminals, because this represents a real test of the world's commitment to the principles of justice and international law.

Complete justice will not be achieved except by holding accountable all those whose hands are stained with the blood of the oppressed Palestinians and Lebanese, and working to end the Zionist occupation of Palestine and its racist policies that threaten regional and international peace and security. We will not rest until we see them behind bars."
