Basra Criminal Court issued a death sentence today, Tuesday, against six drug dealers.
The Judicial Council stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the convicts were found in possession of methylamphetamine, opium, and cannabis resin (hashish); with the intention of trafficking them inside and outside Iraq."
The statement added that "the ruling was issued based on the provisions of Article 27/First of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017."
