The Commander-in-Chief's meeting discusses the security situation on Iraq-Turkey border

    Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security today, Wednesday, to discuss the security situation on the border strip between Iraq and Turkey.

    The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool Abdullah, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security, during which the latest developments and challenges in the regional environment and their impact and repercussions on Iraq were discussed, especially the events taking place in Lebanon and Palestine.".

    The statement added that "the meeting witnessed a discussion of the security situation on the border strip between Iraq and Turkey and ways to enhance security understandings between the two countries."
    The statement continued, "The issues on the meeting's agenda were discussed and the necessary decisions were taken in this regard, in line with the requirements of the public interest of the country."
