The Joint Operations Command (JOC) confirmed, on Friday, that there was no violation in the special voting elections, while indicating that the controlling headquarters supervises 7 governorates and 12 centers with 5,600 voters.
The spokesman for the Joint Operations Command, Tahseen Al-Khafaji, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Joint Operations Command has prepared a special security plan for voting in the regional parliament elections, with two parts: the first is securing the polling stations and the voters' arrival to the polling stations without any influence and with high facilities, and the second part is transporting the memory stick after the elections are over and delivering it to the main centre and securing the protection of the ballot boxes."
The statement added, "This process is being carried out by the controlling headquarters located in the Joint Operations Command headquarters, which supervises 7 governorates and 12 centers where the elections are being held, which include 5,600 voters."
Al-Khafaji pointed out that "a great deal of work is being done with the commission in coordination and providing all capabilities and potentials, and there is communication with the operations command and police in the governorates," stressing "preventing armed manifestations inside the polling center and not influencing voters, and the elections are proceeding smoothly and until this moment there has been no breach."
