Interior Minister, Abdul Amir al-Shammari, issued on Monday, directives regarding the Directorate of Combating Explosives.
The ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari visited, on Monday, the Directorate of Combating Explosives, and was briefed on the most important duties and tasks carried out by this directorate."
The minister stressed "the need to continue training the staff of the Directorate of Combating Explosives and developing their capabilities," directing "cooperation with organizations supporting the training".
"We must intensify efforts at external checkpoints and airports, respond quickly to all calls and work on immediate presence and rapid action in the event of any emergency, God forbid," he said.
On the sidelines of this visit, Al-Shammari inaugurated two new buildings in the directorate, and also supported it by directing the directorate to provide juvenile officers and provide it with various vehicles, praising at the same time "the work of this directorate and the achievements made by its cadres."
