President Barham Salih received Sir John Lorimer the Senior Adviser to British Ministry of Defense for the Middle East, accompanied by Mr. John Wilkes the British Ambassador to Iraq.
During the meeting, they discussed the developments of the political and security situations on the regional and international arenas.
The President indicated that the victory of Iraq in its fight against terrorism and the dark extremist thought helped in entrenching stability in the region.
His Excellency commended the efforts of the international coalition and its support for the Iraqi forces at the logistical and morale levels.
President Salih and Sir Lorimer also discussed the development of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, notably in the military fields, and in the exchange of security information and the need to expand the horizons of cooperation and coordination between the two sides.
For his part, Sir Lorimer lauded Iraq's victory against the terrorist gangs of ISIS, referring that his visit comes to confirm the depth of the joint cooperation between the United Kingdom and Iraq.
He reiterated his country's determination to continue its support to Iraq in the areas of training and equipping Iraqi forces and in strengthening their military capabilities.
