Lt. Gen. Walid Khalifa al-Tamimi, the commander of Baghdad operations, confirmed on Friday that there has been no security breach during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, which is set to conclude within the Baghdad operations sector.
"All roads are open and there are no road blockades at all," Al-Tamimi said to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), adding that "the plan to secure the Arbaeen Pilgrimage is going well and as planned."
He emphasized "the start of the reverse transportation and securing the points of passenger transport and disembarkation in the capital" and that "the Arbaeen Pilgrimage within the Baghdad operations sector is about to end without recording any security breach."
Al-Tamimi reported and even that "service processions in Baghdad began to raise black banners," and "trips continue to transport pilgrims by train."
