45 people were taken into custody in Wasit on Friday, according to a statement released by the Interior Ministry.
In a statement that the Iraqi News Agency (INA) obtained, Wasit Police Command stated that it "conducted a comprehensive security procedure in all areas of the province, in which all directorates of field police stations participated in cooperation with all intelligence and supporting agencies in the province."
The statement made clear that "(45) individuals wanted under various legal articles were arrested, and the Wasit Traffic Directorate detachments were able to impose (345) traffic fines for vehicles that violated laws and regulations."
