CTS Details its Role in Securing Arbaeen Pilgrimage

    The Counter-Terrorism Service-CTS has detailed on Sunday, its role in securing the Arbaeen pilgrimage, reaffirming its readiness to address any potential threats posed by extremists.
     
    Sabah al-Numan, spokesperson for the CTS, stated that "following directives from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the commander of the Counter-Terrorism Service, our readiness for the Arbaeen pilgrimage has been proactive and comprehensive."

    He highlighted that "CTS duties include supporting all security personnel in their operational roles."
     
    Al-Numan further explained that "CTS is also tasked with enhancing intelligence coverage along pilgrim routes and in high-traffic areas to detect and respond to any terrorist activity."
     
    Additionally, he noted that "preemptive measures have been implemented to secure and inspect remote and desert regions, which could be vulnerable to terrorist attacks or attempts to target pilgrim convoys. CTS has conducted ongoing proactive operations and maintains detailed intelligence on areas experiencing high volumes of pilgrims."
     
    Al-NUman also emphasized that "beyond field and intelligence operations, CTS is cooperating with relevant authorities to establish medical and emergency services for pilgrims. The agency remains fully prepared to counter any potential threats posed by terrorists."
