Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said in a tweet via the X platform received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "as a culmination of intensive security meetings, Iraq and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding on military and security cooperation and combating terrorism."

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein confirmed earlier during a press conference held with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan in the Turkish capital Ankara, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Iraqi side will reach certain understandings with the Turkish side regarding the Bashiqa camp in northern Iraq," noting that "Iraq has decided to place the Kurdistan Workers' Party on the list of banned parties."
He added, "During our meeting with our Turkish counterpart, we expressed our deep concern about the state of tension in the region and the continued aggression on Gaza," noting that "the region is still under fire and Iraq stands against any wars."
He continued, "Iraq and Turkey support the ceasefire in Gaza," explaining that "the Zionist occupation continues with the war, the policy of escalation and assassinations."
