The Iraqi National Security Service (INSS) announced on Friday the seizure of a 7-dunam farm in Al-Mada'in, which was found to be cultivating the illegal and psychoactive Datura plant.
According to Arshad Al-Hakim, spokesperson for the INSS, "Following information about the presence of the psychoactive Datura plant, our units, in coordination with relevant authorities, undertook a mission to locate and eradicate this illegal cultivation."
He further noted that "the Datura plants were discovered in multiple locations within the Al-Laj area. Approximately 8 dunams of the cultivation were seized and destroyed according to proper procedural protocols."
