DGIS captures 7 drug dealers in two provinces

    The Directorate General of Intelligence and Security-DGIS reported on Tuesday, capturing 7 drug dealers in Baghdad and Najaf provinces.
    According to an official statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the operation resulted from extensive field surveillance and intelligence work. In Baghdad, five suspects were apprehended in various locations, caught with illegal pills, drug paraphernalia, and light weapons. These individuals were arrested under Article 28 warrants related to drug offences and have been handed over to the authorities.

    Additionally, the statement highlighted that intelligence and security teams in Najaf successfully detained two more drug dealers, caught red-handed, under similar arrest warrants. The Directorate emphasized that these actions are part of a broader effort to curb drug trafficking and maintain public safety.
