    Florentino Perez has been the architect behind Real Madrid’s unprecedented success over the past decade and a half.

    Serving as the Real Madrid president between 2000 to 2006 and then from 2009, Perez’s leadership has seen Los Blancos win numerous accolades, including multiple Champions League titles.

    Perez has also been the mastermind behind Real Madrid’s capture of various iconic players including Cristiano Ronaldo and now Kylian Mbappe.

    Perez to run for elections in 2025
    Despite his unprecedented success, there were doubts over Florentino Perez’s continuation as Real Madrid president beyond 2025, primarily due to his age and health issues.

    However, according to Jorge Picon, Florentino Perez has no plans to retire just yet and is expected to run for the 2025 Real Madrid elections.

    The report cites people in the know, stating that Perez has not ruled out running for the presidency again. If he wins in 2025, he will remain as the Real Madrid president for four more years, though that will serve as the end of his mandate.

    As mentioned earlier, age and physical ailments led many to believe that Perez may not continue beyond 2025. But the 77-year-old has moved past these issues and has indicated privately that he will be able to run for another term in office.

    Florentino Perez’s remaining goals at Real Madrid

    The report also details some of Florentino Perez’s remaining goals that he wishes to achieve if he wins the next term.
    One of them is to bring the World Cup finals to Santiago Bernabeu. Perez also wishes to complete the stadium’s renovation works before he retires.
    Completion of Bernabeu’s renovation could lead to another of Perez’s goals, which is to increase revenue from the stadium.
    In addition, the Real Madrid president wants to expand the training ground and facilities, which are already one of the best in the world.
    Finally, Florentino Perez wishes to achieve in his endeavour to kickstart the European Super League – a project that has received very little support from peers.
