The Joint Operations Command (JOC) announced on Sunday the successful targeting of a Daesh hideout in the Hamrin Mountains.
According to a statement from the Security Media Cell (SMC) received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the operation was part of ongoing proactive measures by Iraqi security forces. Utilizing precise intelligence from the Military Intelligence Directorate and coordinated efforts of the Targeting Cell at JOC, the Iraqi Army Air Force conducted a precision airstrike with CH5 aircraft. The strike effectively obliterated an ISIS hideout within the Kirkuk Operations Sector.
"In a separate engagement," the statement continued, "Iraqi army aviation also neutralized an abandoned vehicle used by Daesh operatives in the Sunnidij area."
Highlighting the steadfast commitment of Iraqi security forces, the statement concluded, "Our heroic forces remain vigilant and resolute in their mission to eradicate terrorism and secure our nation."
