Defense Minister announces a program to improve the Air Force capabilities

Defense Minister Thabet Muhammad Al-Abbasi announced ,on Wednesday, a program to improve the Air Force capabilities.

"The Iraqi Air Force conducted a joint exercise with the Italian Air Force (exercise UR 1 ), indicating that "last year the same exercise was conducted with the French Air Force" , AL-Abbasi said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA ).

"This context comes within the Government program to develop and escalate the Iraqi Air Force combat capabilities and provide it with the latest weapons and equipment " ,he explained.

AL- Abbasi pointed out that" the ministry has a program to improve the Air Force capabilities in the selection of advanced weapons that are needed by Iraqi Operations Square " , stressing that" Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani has a general orientation to develop weapons”.

It is noteworthy that the Air Force Command was congratulated on its founding anniversary by Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani on Wednesday.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), The Prime Minister said: "I extend my warmest congratulations and blessings to all members of the Air Force Command, pilots, engineers, navigators, technicians and workers, ranks and employees of all specialties, who have made the most wonderful achievements and heroism, on the occasion of the ninety-third anniversary of the founding of the Air Force Command".

PM went on, "We remember their pure blood and bravery to defend Iraq's sovereignty and dignity. They left a lasting impression on history when they defeated terrorism, and their memory will live on throughout the world ".
