PM financial advisor unveils benefits of joining EBRD

The Prime Minister's Advisor for Financial Affairs, Mazhar Mohammed Saleh outlined on Friday, the significant advantages of Iraq's membership in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

"There is a positive synergy between building a development strategy embodied today in the government's philosophy of launching the comprehensive sectoral economic development initiative known as the 'Development Road' project as This project is the strategic corridor connecting European Union countries in Asia through Iraq and the maritime Gulf passages and vice versa," Saleh told The Iraqi News Agency-INA.
 
“This also entails the requirements for implementing various stages of the Development Road through Iraq's membership in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, especially in the priority of accessing European technology and ensuring the role of European Union companies in implementing the Development Road in all its aspects, whether in infrastructure, industrial production projects, or various logistic services," Saleh added.
 
He further added, " EBRD Membership provides our country with the advantage of accessing easy financing, technical assistance, and supporting development activities across our nation's various sectors, joining EBRD also represents a broad vision carrying strategic dimensions in fostering the economic development climate in Iraq, in line with the requirements of the government program and the National Development Plan 2024-2028, embodying our country's needs for sustainable international cooperation in reconstruction, development, and long-term sustainable development.”
