SCO: About 800 terrorists and those wanted in criminal cases were arrested

    Samarra Commander Operations, Major General Ali Mejal al-Maliki, confirmed today, Friday, the arrest of 65 terrorists and 727 wanted persons according to criminal materials.

    Samarra Operations Commander, Major General Ali Mejal Al-Maliki, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The security forces carried out several operations recently that resulted in the killing of a terrorist and the arrest of 65 others, in addition to seizing and destroying 196 hideouts, stacks, and equipment, and removing and treating 64 explosive devices from ISIS terrorist remnants.”.

    Al-Maliki added, "The operations also resulted in the arrest of 727 people wanted according to criminal matters, and the seizure of a tanker and a modified load vehicle, for the illegal entry of foreign workers and other numbers who did not have official approvals passing through the controls.".

    Al-Maliki confirmed, “There has been no security breach during the last 6 months,” stressing that “work continues to clean uninhabited areas from the remnants of the terrorist ISIS through military engineering personnel, search and inspection operations, and the dredging of islands and swamps from jungles and reeds.”.

    He continued, "Work is also continuing to implement the security plan for the visit of Imam Al-Kadhim, peace be upon him, and the movement of visitors, in addition to the movement of foreign tourism within the sector of responsibility.".
