The Federal Integrity Commission FCOI declared on Monday that it had discovered a thirty-three million dollar exaggeration in two contracts for Dhi Qar Oil Company.

The work team of the Dhi Qar Investigation Office was able to uncover an exaggeration in the estimated cost of the contract for the project to establish and maintain the warehouses of Al-Gharraf oil field, according to a statement of COI that the Iraqi News Agency (INA) obtained. The statement further stated that "the contract was concluded by the company with an Emirati company in the amount of (27,000,000) dollars, although the estimated cost of the project does not exceed (12,000,000) dollars."

The statement went on to say that "the team noticed an exaggeration of up to (18,000,000) million dollars in the contract for the processing of pipes for Al-Gharraf field concluded between the Dhi Qar Oil Company and a Malaysian company." It also mentioned how the company's procurement committee wasted (37,795,000) dinars buying equipment at double the price from a private company in local markets, and how they exaggerated (52,000,000) dinars buying three trucks and a medical waste incinerator."

The statement further said that "the team revealed a waste of public money in equipping a power plant for the benefit of Ur State Company in the amount of (2,000,000) dollars and not bringing it into service," citing the exaggerated prices that resulted in the purchase of furniture for the director's office at the Dhi Qar power station for (99,000,000) dinars.

"The purchase of (100) reverse osmosis cells for an amount of (70,000,000) dinars was found to have violated technical specifications," the statement stated.
