NSS dismantles a large network practicing usury in Wasit

The National Security Service –NSS announced on Thursday the dismantling of a large network that practices usury in innovative ways in Wasit governorate.

NSS said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Based on accurate intelligence, the National Security Service detachments in Wasit governorate, and with a qualitative operation that took place after obtaining judicial approvals, were able to dismantle a large network of (29) people practicing usury in innovative ways by issuing fake instruments without cash amount in an attempt to defraud the law, but the vigilance of our men prevented the completion and achievement of their vile goals targeting citizens”.

" The defendants were seized in possession of trust receipts and checks, and referred to competent judicial authorities to receive their fair punishment in accordance with the law "the statement added.
