Commander-in-Chief: The electoral process did not indicate any breach

    The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, confirmed today, Wednesday, that there were no violations in the electoral process.
     
    The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief, Major General Yahya Rasoul, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security, in the presence of members of the Council, to discuss the security situation in the country, and the efforts of the security forces to establish security and stability, in addition to deliberating on a number of files and topics on the agenda.”
    Rasoul added, "The meeting discussed the situation of the displaced Syrians in the camps, through what was proposed by the Ministry of Immigration and Displacement, as it was agreed to form a joint committee from the Ministries of Immigration and Displacement, the Interior Ministry, the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, and the National Security Service, for the purpose of preparing a special inventory of these displaced people according to an accurate database, which also enables support and relief to be provided to them.” 
      "In another context, the Chief of Staff of the Army presented a vision for next year to complete the handover of the security file from the Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of Interior, which achieved success in receiving this file in the governorates of (Babylon, Diwaniyah, Najaf al-Ashraf, Wasit, and Muthanna) and security stability witnessed by the governorates during this period is very high. Rasoul said.
    He stated, “The conferees also discussed the issue of the unfortunate accident to which the Saudi and Kuwaiti fishermen were exposed, and the opening of an in-depth investigation to determine the circumstances of this accident.
    He pointed out, "At the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, extended his thanks and appreciation to all the security services and intelligence services that worked to secure and make the 2023 provincial council elections a success and to create a safe and appropriate circumstances for all participants in this democratic process in the country, praising the security plan for these elections, which carried a message to the whole world about the readiness of the Iraqi security services and the concerted efforts in this electoral process, in which no violation was reported.”
