Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Assadi, participated today, Thursday, in the meeting of the 43rd session of Ministers of Social Affairs in Cairo, while announcing the outcomes of the meeting.
The Ministry of Labor said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi participated in the meeting of the 43rd session of Ministers of Social Affairs, which began over two days in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.”.
The office added, "The Palestinian issue was the first axis that was touched upon in the meeting," noting that "Al-Assadi conveyed the position of the Iraqi government and people toward the Palestinian issue and the continuous support it provides to the Palestinian people, whether with food, relief, or medical supplies.".
Al-Asadi confirmed according to the statement that “there are a series of files discussed at the meeting, including looking at what is happening in Gaza, demanding a ceasefire, sending all needs, and providing continuous support,” explaining that “the meeting discussed many issues, including addressing multidimensional poverty issues and voting on a number of projects, supporting people with disabilities and providing them with job opportunities.”.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Al-Asadi met with his Palestinian counterpart, Ahmed Majdalani, where he affirmed "the Iraqi government's position in supporting the Palestinian cause.".
He also met with the ministers of Libya and Tunisia to discuss issues of joint Arab action.
