Al-Karkh Criminal Court issued a 10-year prison sentence against a convicted person for the crime of glorifying and promoting terrorism through websites, on Tuesday.
A statement from the Supreme Judicial Council received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said that "the convict confessed during recording his statements to managing important websites and electronic accounts of terrorist organizations glorifying members of Daesh terrorist elements and promoting their Takfiri ideas”.
The statement added that "the decision was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article (10) of the law (banning the Baath party, entities, parties and racist terrorist and blasphemous activities No. 32 of 2017)".
