Iraq Participates in the Third Edition of Sharjah Prize for Arabic Poetry

    Sharjah prize for Arabic poetry criticism, in its third edition entitled "The structure of poetic discourse in contemporary Arabic poetry", under the patronage of supreme council member and Ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, and organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs at the Department of culture in Sharjah, witnessed a remarkable Arab turnout.
     
    The Department of Culture received 127 critical research papers from participants representing 14 Arab countries, including Iraq, with the closing of the participation door a few days ago.
     
    The director of the Department of Cultural Affairs at Sharjah Department of Culture, Secretary General of the award, Muhammad Ibrahim Al Qasir, said that "the remarkable turnout for the award confirms its importance among Arab critics, and reflects its active role in reading the Arab poetic scene from a distinctive critical angle, which is an enhancement of the vision of the award, which came under the guidance of the ruler of Sharjah to highlight the most prominent issues related to poetry.
     
    Al Qasir added that "the current session witnessed a remarkable diversity of participants from 14 countries: Egypt, Morocco, Iraq, Syria, Algeria, Jordan, Tunisia, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Mauritania, Palestine and Sudan".

    Al Qasir highlighted that " the jury of this session will select the winning research in the first three places according to agreed monetary criteria, in light of the large number of participants", pointing out that "the announcement of the names of the winners will be during the activities of Sharjah festival of Arabic poetry at its twenty-first session, which will be held next January."
