IEDs, rockets and mortars found in three governorates: SMC

The Security Media Cell SMC announced on Wednesday the discovery of explosive devices, rockets and various mortar shells in three provinces.
 
The cell said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "The Ground Forces Command continues to chase ISIS terrorist elements deep into the desert, search for their hideouts, and clear the land of war remnants."
 
"A force from the 20th and 43rd Infantry Brigades of the Western Nineveh Operations Command in the desert of al-Baaj, after receiving information indicating the presence of a s strange object, found a homemade explosive device (IED) - 2  missiles, a remnant of ISIS terrorist gangs, which was detonated," it said.

"Another force from the 91st Infantry Brigade - a treatment detachment from the 21st Infantry Division Engineering Battalion carried out the duty of protecting the maintenance team of the electrical power transmission towers of the Salah al-Din Electricity Department within the responsibility section, and found (a rocket launcher number 6 - explosive devices and a defensive hand grenade) remnants of the terrorist ISIS that were destroyed," it said.
 
"The 19th Infantry Brigade – a treatment detachment from the 5th Division carried out a search duty in the south of al-Dabaa area in Anbar province, and found (heavy machine gun equipment caliber 14.5 mm, 2 canisters, , a 75 mm cannon shell, 5 RBG7 launcher missiles against people, 1 grenade, an RBG7 launcher, 4 improvised explosive devices and a detonation device," it said, noting that "they were detonated under control".
 
"The Maysan Operations Command, the 97th Infantry Brigade and the 1st Maysan Emergency Regiment, carried out a search duty in the district of (Grand Majar Al-Maymouna) and found (Kalashnikov rifles of various types, 8 GC rifles and a pistol)," it said.
