Energy Police Announces About New Toll for Its Operations

    The Director General of The Energy Police, Major General Dhafer Nazmi Al-Husseini, said in statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "The Directorate continues to perform its duties to combat the smuggling of oil products, and this effort contributed to reducing the smuggling rate to 98 %, according to Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari”.
     
    Al-Husseini added that" the 8th Brigade in Basra managed to arrest 6 defendants, at the beginning of this month, who were trying to steal oil pipelines from inside the southern Rumaila field, and seized 5 wheels, as well as the arrest of 5 other defendants and the seizure of 3 heavy mechanisms, the aim of which was to destabilize security and provoke chaos in the oil fields “, stressing that "there are no violations in the oil pipelines in all regions of Iraq”.
     
    He pointed out that “a den for smuggling oil derivatives was seized in Baghdad and a large number of those involved were arrested, as well as a number of tanks used to store oil derivatives and a wheel were seized, in addition to the arrest of an accused who was inside the den in Baghdad next to Rusafa".
     
    Al-Husseini pointed out that" the result of the operations during a month included the seizure of more than 313 thousand liters in all areas of energy operations, returned to the state, as well as the arrest of 31 defendants, in addition to the seizure of 23 tanks and 3 dens ", stressing that  “the energy Police Directorate seeks to end the file of smuggling of oil derivatives”.
