Hussein Allawi, Advisor to the Prime Minister, announced today, Monday, the basic path for Iraq in supporting the Palestinian cause, while indicating that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani had taken two paths in this regard.

Allawi said to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Prime Minister’s position is clearer than other positions currently existing in the Arab region, as he laid out a road map at the Cairo Peace Conference that begins with a ceasefire as well as opening the crossings, and this is what was discussed after repeated meetings of Iraqi officials with their counterparts in Arab and Islamic countries regarding the need to provide relief to our people, the innocent and defenseless citizens in Gaza.”

He added, "Three batches of aid have been sent so far by the Iraqi side through the Iraqi Air Force, as well as the Iraqi Army Aviation, which is participating in transferring these donations from the Iraqi people to the Palestinian people."

He pointed out that "the second track is what was approved by the Prime Minister in the Council of Ministers session through the formation of the Gaza Reconstruction Fund, and in return, what is in line with the aspirations of the Arab countries in the reconstruction process and rebuilding Gaza after the aggressive war by the Zionist entity towards the Palestinians."

“Also, Iraq supports the establishment of the State of Palestine with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, which is the basic path for Iraq in diplomatic forums, whether in the United Nations General Assembly, the Security Council, the Arab League, or other international forums and emergency conferences in which the Prime Minister and Iraqi diplomats participate.”
The crisis must be resolved with the existence of a dignified Palestinian state that protects Palestinian citizens after a diaspora for more than 70 years, with Holy Jerusalem as its capital, and this is the basic path.

Allawi noted that "the Prime Minister's warning about the expansion of the war came within the framework of his view that a comprehensive war might be devastating to the region, and what the Prime Minister wrote in the Guardian newspaper in a lengthy article in which he pointed out that we Iraqis have lived through the crises of multiple wars and tasted the bitterness of wars and its humanitarian and social effects." Therefore, from this standpoint, the Prime Minister believes that the war must end in the region and we must move to development, reconstruction, and building the Arab human being.”
