Iraqi National Security Service (INIS) announced on Monday, the arrest of one of the most dangerous terrorists in Salah al-Din Governorate, indicating that the ISIS terrorist held the position of communications and mail sending officer through his use of several programs on social media sites.
A statement by INIS, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “the anti-terrorism cell in our agency was able, after careful monitoring and tracking, to arrest one of the most dangerous terrorists belonging to the ranks of ISIS terrorist gangs within the so-called Salah al-Din Province, nicknamed (Abu Tariq), he holds the position of communications and mail sending officer through the use of several social media programs.”
The statement added, "The terrorist confessed to belonging to ISIS gangs and his direct connection to the so-called economic official and commander of the terrorist Hamrin Mountains cutter, known as (Montaser Al-Samarrai), in addition to carrying out transportation operations and logistical support for terrorist gangs."
It explained, "The accused terrorist (Abu Tariq) belongs to a family that embraces Takfiri thought, and all of his brothers belong to terrorist gangs, and the majority of them were killed by the security forces during operations to liberate the usurped areas."
The statement added, “Following the initial confessions of the accused and the information he provided, an air strike was carried out on one of the terrorist gangs’ guest houses on (Al-Hayth Island) within the Salah al-Din Governorate sector, in which (8) members of ISIS gangs were present, which led to the killing of a number among them,” explaining that “the arrest of the aforementioned accused came in accordance with the provisions of Article (4) of terrorism after distinguished intelligence and technical efforts that led to his arrest in the “Tel Kasiba” area in Salah al-Din Governorate.”
It pointed out, "The terrorist's statements were duly recorded and he was referred to the competent judicial authorities to take the necessary measures against him in accordance with the law."
