The Ministry of the Interior announced Thursday, using a new colored cap badge for the officers’ beret and a non-colored cap badge for affiliates.
A statement from the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir al-Shammari, chaired the 21st meeting of the Opinion Committee for the year 2023, in the presence of the majority of its members.”
The statement added that "During the meeting, they discussed the creation of a new cap badge for the beret, which will be colored for officers and not colored for affiliates, in addition to forming divisions to follow up on investigative cases in the anti-crime departments in the governorates."
It continued that "The attendees discussed the Integrity Commission's proposal to form police stations in the governorates to implement judicial decisions on corruption cases. The issue of automating police stations and linking them to a single system was also discussed."
