President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid sent on Saturday a cable of congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Media Office of the President of the Republic stated in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “The President of the Republic sent a cable of congratulations to the Saudi King on the occasion of the Kingdom’s National Day.”
The following is the text of the telegram:
“The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on behalf of the Iraqi people and on my own behalf, I am pleased to extend to Your Majesty the best congratulations and blessings on the occasion of your country's National Day. I wish you every success and well-being and to your brotherly people further progress and prosperity.”
He added: "I take this happy occasion to affirm our keenness to strengthen bilateral relations between our two brotherly countries and peoples in all fields."
