Capturing 3 drug dealers and 17 foreigners in violation of the residency law in four governorates: DGIS

    The Directorate General of Intelligence and Security-DGIS at the Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday the arrest of 3 drug dealers, 17 foreigners in violation of the residency law, and the discovery of a pile of equipment in four governorates.
     

     “The detachments of the Diwaniyah Intelligence and Security Directorate, affiliated with the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security of the Ministry of Defense, enabled to arrest two narcotic drug dealers in the eastern Hamza District in the city of Diwaniyah, in possession of various narcotic substances. As two judicial warrants were issued against them in accordance with the provisions of Article (28) “Narcotics,” DGIS stated in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA. Indicating that “the necessary measures have been taken against them.”
     
    The statement added, " the Detachments of the Dhi Qar Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated with the same directorate also arrested, in coordination with the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs, one of those wanted by the judiciary in Dhi Qar Governorate on charges of drug trafficking, according to an arrest warrant issued against him, by one of the competent courts."
     
    "The detachments of Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate were able, on the other hand, to arrest (17) foreigners entered the country illegally and in violation of the residency conditions," noting that "the violators were arrested in the Al-Bataween area in Baghdad, where they were handed over to the Residency Directorate,"  the statement added.
     
     
    The statement continued, “detachments of the Diyala Intelligence and Security Directorate, through an intelligence effort, found a stack of equipment in the village of Al-Aqidat in the Muqdadiya district, containing (18) missiles and launcher charges, (10) grenades, (9) mortar bombs, and (25) TNT explosive materials, noting that “the materials were removed without any significant incident.”
