Iraq participates in the events of the Maritime Industry Sustainability Conference held in Jeddah

    The Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, arrived today, Sunday, in the city of Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to attend the activities of the Maritime Industry Sustainability Conference.
     
     
    A statement by the ministry’s media office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, “Al-Saadawi arrived at Jeddah International Airport at the head of a ministerial delegation, to attend the activities of the Maritime Industry Sustainability Conference (SMIC),” noting that “the Undersecretary of the Minister of Transport and Logistics in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was in receive him."
    According to the statement "Iraq's participation in this conference aims to highlight Iraq's role in the maritime sector, and reflects the minister's interest and the government's program to developing and improving the work environment in the Iraqi maritime sector," noting that "the activities of the conference, which are held sponsored by the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority Transport, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, will last for two days during the period from 4 to 6 September 2023 in Jeddah, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a number of ministers, ambassadors and permanent representatives to the organization, and maritime experts, from 70 countries, to discuss sustainability in the maritime industry and the impact Industry on the environment.
     The statement noted "The conference will witness the participation of more than 50 speakers from maritime sector experts, in more than 10 workshops, and 2,000 exhibitors to cover more than 50 accompanying exhibitions, to research and discuss modern technologies, build human capabilities, and present initiatives to protect the marine environment."
