The Popular Mobilization Forces-PMF announced on Saturday, the launching of a joint security operation in Salah al-Din province.
"A joint force from the 52nd Brigade of the Kirkuk and East Tigris Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces and the Iraqi army, has begun implementing a security operation east of Salah al-Din Governorate," stated PMF in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA.
"The operation included conducting a complete search and inspection of a number of areas and villages in eastern Salah al-Din, including the village of Khashamna, al-Husayniyya, and Bir Ahmed,” the statement added.
"The operation witnessed the participation of a force from the aforementioned brigade with a force from the Iraqi army and the support of the army's aviation,” the statement continued. Stressing that "the operation comes within the joint efforts made to secure the area in conjunction with the approaching Arbaeen pilgrimage."
