Parliamentary move to legislate the oil and gas law

    The MP of the Parliamentary State Law bloc, Firas al-muslimawi, revealed on Friday the laws planned to be legislated in parliament in the coming period, while confirming the proximity of voting on the law on advisory offices and the amendment of the law on private university education.

    "The priority of the presidency of the parliament and the Parliament is to legislate the laws sent by the government, and in the second stage come the proposals of laws and committees,"said Al-muslimawi, to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

    He explained that "the parliamentary committees decided that the proposals of laws and amendments sent by the government should be in a way that touches the lives of citizens".

    He added that" among the important laws that the parliament intends to legislate after the arrival of its draft is the oil and gas law, "stressing that"there is a parliamentary and Governmental will to legislate to preserve justice in the distribution of wealth.

    "The parliament is determined to support the vulnerable segments with regard to small and income-generating projects, as this law has been approved and has come into force, as well as the information law, which is a very important law related to electronic extortion,"he pointed out.

    He pointed out that" the Informatics law aims to protect everyone, contrary to what has been circulated in the media, it is a restriction of freedoms, "noting that"the parliamentary security and defense committee is working to complete this law.

    He pointed out that" there is a tendency among the blocs and political forces to form legal committees aimed at taking the initiative and legislating laws that directly affect the life of citizens, "pointing out that"the government has withdrawn 9 laws, most notably the law on random houses, and waiting to send them to Parliament and vote on them.

    "The Parliament is moving towards legislating or amending laws related to the sectors of Agriculture, Industry, Water Resources, as well as education and higher education," Al-muslimawi said, noting that "the Higher Education Committee will soon vote on the law of advisory offices and efforts to amend the law 25 private university education, which concerns private universities, in addition to amending the law 40".
