Iraq and US discuss joint security cooperation

    INA - BAGHDAD 

    Defense Minister Thabit Al-Abbasi discussed with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan joint security cooperation between Iraq and the United States.

    Al-Abbasi held a meeting on Tuesday evening with Sullivan, in the presence of the Prime Minister's Advisor for Security Policy Affairs, Khalid Al-Yaqoubi, and the US Ambassador in Baghdad, Alina Romanowski," according to a statement by the Ministry of Defense, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    During the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the visit of the Minister of Defense to the United States of America, they discussed the joint relations between the two countries, especially the security cooperation between Iraq and US.

    The Minister of Defense is on an official visit, at the head of a high-level delegation, which includes the head of the Counter-Terrorism Service, the Army Chief of Staff, the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, and a number of advisers and officers, to the United States of America.
