NIS arrests one of the most dangerous leaders of ISIS in Baghdad

    The Iraqi National Intelligence Service announced the arrest of the so-called "Abu Harith Baghdad", the so-called official (Al-Qadisiyah Division) of the terrorist ISIS.

    The agency stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, based on accurate intelligence information, was able to arrest the terrorist called "Abu Harith Baghdad" (Muthanna Muhammad Jabbar Afrit), one of the most dangerous leaders of ISIS.

    He added, "The terrorist belonged to the ranks of terrorist groups in the year 2005 and worked within the Baghdad detachments, then moved in the year 2007 to work in other detachments to plant explosive devices and assassinations in the capital, and in the year 2009 he moved to Nineveh Governorate and joined ISIS as a leader of the so-called Al-Qadisiyah Division, and after the defeat of ISIS in In the year 2017, news of his death was spread in an attempt to stop the legal prosecutions against him, and in the year 2019 he tried to enter the capital Baghdad under a false name and a false identity, where he was arrested according to a judicial warrant and in a tight ambush that lasted for ten continuous hours on 7/27/2023 to be handed over to the duly competent authorities.
