The Oil Marketing Company, SOMO, denied today, Sunday, that oil production has been affected by Iraq's gas agreement with Iran.
SOMO company's media said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Oil Marketing Company denies what some media reported that Iraq's oil production may be affected by an agreement to pay for Iranian gas imports by bartering fuel oil and crude oil from Baghdad, even at a time when the second largest oil producer in OPEC is struggling with the continued suspension of North Oil, as it has nothing to do with this statement.
In addition, "The Oil Marketing Company calls on the media and websites to be careful before publishing in order to avoid publishing misleading information about the facts and the need to take it from its official sources while respecting the rules of professional and ethical work in service of the public interest, and stresses that it maintains its legal right against all parties that mislead public opinion."
