The Ministry of Electricity confirmed its high coordination with the Ministry of Oil to compensate for the system's shortages as a result of the decline in Iranian gas supplies.
"The issue of disbursement and delivery of Iranian gas dues is entrusted to the Trade Bank of Iraq - TBI, and the ministry has deposited money in the bank," said the ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Musa, to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Musa noted "There is difficulty in transferring it to the Iranian side because of US sanctions, and there is an agreement to supply goods, humanitarian needs and vaccines.”

We had achieved our full readiness of distribution stations and networks. Also, our system had reached distinguished numbers for the first time, and our stations are ready to operate with their capacity," he asserted.
He stated, "The general mobilization is ongoing for the staff of the Ministry of Electricity, as the maintenance teams are still divided with the administrative units according to the directives of the Prime Minister, and the alert is still working in all electricity formations and is covered in the field by tours from the minister, and our efforts were complete to achieve good employment for citizens for it had not been for the repercussions of gas."
