The Directorate General of Intelligence and Security announced on Wednesday, the arrest of an ISIS terrorist in Baghdad.
The Directorate of the Ministry of Defense stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "with a qualitative operation based on accurate intelligence information, through which the detachments of the Babel Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated to the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense and in cooperation with the Narcotics Division managed to overthrow one of the largest drug dealers narcotic drugs and in his possession (a kilogram) of crystal and (4000) narcotic pills that were hidden inside his house,the arrest came after following up the accused in the field and determining his whereabouts in the Al-Nida neighborhood of Al-Najaf Governorate, and arresting him in flagrante delicto, the seized items were confiscated and the accused was referred to the competent authorities to complete his investigative papers."
The statement added, "The detachments of the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated to the same directorate were able to arrest a member of the terrorist ISIS gangs in the Abu Ghraib district of Baghdad governorate, against whom a judicial warrant was issued in accordance with Article (1/4) terrorism, as he was referred to the judiciary to receive his punishment fair."
It continued, "Through an elaborate ambush, the other directorate's detachments arrested an accused of human trafficking in the Karrada district of Baghdad. He carried out many human trafficking operations (juveniles) and smuggled them out of the country ,the necessary legal measures were taken and he was referred to the competent investigative authorities."
