Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani warned on Wednesday of a serious challenge facing projects, recommending decision makers to develop solutions to face climate change.
Al-Badrani said in a speech during a press conference on the occasion of the International Day of Desertification and attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "On this earth, the first civilizations arose for the presence of Tigris and Euphrates which were the source of civilizations."
“There is a big and serious challenge facing projects, as climate change is a major challenge for the world,” he added, asking, “what if water decreased and the earth dehydrated?”
"We must develop some solutions and support decision makers to meet the challenges," he continued, noting that "this is the business of universities and research centers because it has a specific specialization that belongs to all people."
He called on “the decision makers to come up with solutions.”
