A spokesman for the team, Haider Majeed, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The meeting of the committee concerned with developing an executive action plan to deal with international media companies was held on the sidelines of the Arab League meetings in Morocco," noting that "a member of the Iraqi delegation, Jader Al-Jader, represented Iraq during the meeting".
Majeed added, "During the review of the explanatory memorandum, which included an Arab guiding draft law to regulate the work of social media and protect users from illegal content, as well as a guiding draft law to prevent hate speech approved by Arab justice ministers."
He explained that "the meeting came out with 4 recommendations, which are:
1. Submitting the plan to the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information.
2. Emphasis on observing the gradual implementation of the plan, and keeping pace with the variable technological development in the mentioned stages.
3. Forming a highly specialized team of experts in the field of technology, media and law to negotiate with international media companies.
4. Respect for the national and sovereign legislation and laws of all Arab countries.
