INSS arrests 21 accused of trafficking and transporting narcotics

    Iraqi National Security Service-INSS announced on Tuesday, the arrest of 21 accused of trafficking and transporting narcotics in several governorates.
     
    INSS said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "The detachments of INSS in western Nineveh, in coordination with Najaf Security Directorate, and in a qualitative operation based on accurate intelligence information, and after obtaining judicial approvals, were able to arrest an accused of drug trafficking and transporting in Najaf Governorate."
     
    The statement added, "The arrest took place after setting up  up an elaborate ambush that led to capturing him in flagrante delicto, and he admitted his intention to distribute the narcotic bills to the areas of the province."
     
    The statement explained that "the detachments arrested, in separate operations, (20) others on charges of drug trafficking and promotion in the governorates (Baghdad, Dhi Qar, Najaf, and Babel), and seized quantities of various narcotic substances and tools of abuse."
     
     
    "The accused were referred, after recording their testimony, to the competent judicial authorities to receive their legal penalty," the statement continued.
