The Joint Operations Command –JOC counted on Friday, the death toll of ISIS terrorist gangs since the beginning of this year.
The spokesman for JOC, Major General Tahsin Al-Khafaji, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Joint Operations Command continues to pursue ISIS terrorist members everywhere, especially in the areas in which the terrorists consider remote and safe areas for them, which are mountainous, especially in the Hamrin mountain range, Lake Hamrin, Wadi al-Shay and Wadi Zaytoun,” Pointing out that "the terrorists always hide in the desert of Anbar and the areas of western Nineveh them because they are besieged by the security forces."
He added, "ISIS terrorist members take several forms to hide from the security forces, including using or exploiting sheep herders and moving around in the form of very small detachments to carry out terrorist operations or adopting methods of threat, kidnapping and robbery in mountainous areas, valleys, deserts, and others," stressing that "the security forces chasing and pursuing these gangs in order to eliminate them."
"The number of ISIS terrorists killed since the current government took office has exceeded 155 terrorists," he added, affirming that "the security forces have killed more than 119 terrorists and destroyed 303 tunnels and guesthouses since the beginning of this year until now."
