The Ministry of Planning, in cooperation with the German Agency for International Development, held today, Thursday, a workshop on adapting to the reality of climate change.
A statement by the Ministry of Planning, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the workshop discussed the impact of climate changes in providing services to citizens, as well as stopping at the environmental reality, climate variables, and the challenges facing the Iraqi government at the national and local levels.".
The statement added, "The workshop came to review the priority needs in this field, in order to provide the necessary support and technical support to face the growing climate challenges, not only at the level of Iraq, but also at the global level."
The statement indicated, "The workshop had wide participation by ministries and government institutions represented by (the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Environment, Construction, Housing, Municipalities, Public Works, Water Resources, and Agriculture), as well as representatives of the governorates (Muthanna, Anbar, and Nineveh), as well as a number One of the experts and workers in this file.
The statement continued, "The German government is working to support the Iraqi government in this file, through the implementation of a number of projects in various fields, in addition to a number of employees of the relevant departments in the ministry."
