The Central Bank of Iraq CBI confirmed, on Thursday, the existence of Iraqi-Saudi cooperation in the field of exchange of experiences and electronic payment.
Deputy Governor Ammar Hamad Khalaf told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "during the meeting of the fifth session of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council, the cooperation between the Central Bank of Iraq and the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia was clear in many fields to provide banking services to traders and beneficiaries."
He added, "One of the Iraqi banks opened a branch in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and there is another bank in the process of opening a branch in the Kingdom," noting that "there is cooperation in the field of exchanging experiences and information and developing expertise in the field of financial technologies, electronic payment and other banking services between the Central Banks of Iraq and Saudi Arabia."
