The Ministry of Electricity confirmed today, Tuesday, that Iranian gas releases decreased by 20 million cubic meters, while revealing that a high-ranking delegation will visit Tehran next week to discuss the file, and indicated that the improvement in supply will continue in light of the current demand, which could reach 24 thousand megawatts.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity, Ahmed Al-Abadi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Iranian side has reduced the quantities of gas flowing to Iraq by about 20 million cubic meters during the past two days," noting that "the payment of money to buy gas from Iran does not involve any delay and there is no any debts, as far as the ministry is concerned."
He added, "The process of paying the money takes place through the Trade Bank of Iraq, and there is no delay in payment from the Ministry of Electricity."
The spokesman continued, "The prime minister is very interested in the issue of electricity and improving the system, and there is a delegation headed by the Minister of Electricity that will visit Iran next week to overcome the obstacles, and the Iranian side will be informed that Iraq is about to enter peak loads due to the high temperatures.."
