The Civil Aviation Authority announced today, Sunday that it has signed an agreement with Russia for air services.
The Aviation Authority said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The head of the Civil Aviation Authority, Imad Abdul Razzaq al-Asadi, signed the air services agreement with the Russian Federation, in the presence of the Iraqi ambassador to Russia, Qahtan al-Jubouri, on the sidelines of the International Economic Forum in the Russian city of Kazan."
The head of the authority said, "The final signing of that agreement comes with the aim of updating the air transport agreement signed with the Soviet Union in 1962, for the purpose of updating it and enhancing prospects for joint cooperation in the transport sector, in a way that contributes to developing the reality of civil aviation between the two countries."
According to the statement "The Kazan Economic Forum is a good opportunity for communication between members of the Islamic world and to discuss a set of common goals in order to implement a set of joint projects to enhance the principle of partnership and a meaningful vision in several economic sectors."
It is noteworthy that the Kazan Forum included in its agenda about 200 activities of sessions, conferences and events in several fields with the aim of strengthening trade, economic and practical ties and other fields between Russia and the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
