The head of the Russian Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced today, Saturday, the complete control of the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, which was the focus of the longest battle.
The commander of the group said: "His forces will start leaving Bakhmut on May 25, and will hand over the city to the Russian army.".
Earlier in the day, media outlets confirmed that "Russian forces are fighting battles to liberate Artyomovsk, and fighting is taking place on the outskirts of the city.".
On the other hand, the Ukrainian army confirmed that "fighting continues in the city."
