Oil Minister confirms the government's keenness to support the Lebanese people

    The Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdel-Ghani, affirmed today, Saturday, the government's keenness to support the Lebanese people and study their fuel needs. 

    A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, "The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul-Ghani, received the Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water, Walid Fayyad, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they discussed prospects for bilateral relations and cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the oil and energy sector." And ways to enhance them in a way that serves common interests. 
    The Minister of Oil affirmed, according to the statement, "the keenness of the government and the ministry to support the brotherly Lebanese people, to study their needs for fuel and crude oil, and to work to meet them according to the available capabilities."
    For his part, Minister of Energy and Water Walid Fayyad praised the support of the government and people of Iraq and the Ministry of Oil for the Lebanese people and standing with them in their economic crisis, especially in meeting a large part of their fuel needs to generate electric power, and this is a matter of appreciation and pride.
    And Fayyad said, "The meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Minister of Oil, and officials in the ministry was fruitful and included discussing the possibility of increasing the allocated quantities of black oil and crude oil."
    The statement concluded, "The meeting was attended by the Undersecretaries of the Ministry for Extraction, Refining and Gas Affairs, the Director General of the Oil Marketing Company "SOMO" and the Director of the Government Information and Communication Office.
