The Ministry of Migration and Displacement counted the current number of camps and the number of displaced persons in them .
The director of the branch department in the ministry, Ali Abbas, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The number of camps in the Kurdistan region is (26), including (16) camps in Dohuk, six camps in Erbil, and four camps in Sulaymaniyah."
He explained that "the number of displaced people who live in these camps is about (36,000) thousand families," pointing out that "most of the displaced are from Sinjar district in Nineveh governorate, as well as from Anbar, Salah al-Din and Diyala governorates. "
And the Minister of Immigration, Evan Faiq Jabro, had confirmed earlier that, "There is a commitment to the government program to close the displacement file within 6 months, including the displaced from Jurf al-Sakhar," indicating: "We, the Ministry of Immigration, are committed to this program and hope for the return of the displaced. "
She added, "We have daily returns, even if in very small numbers," noting, "We encourage this return to end the displacement file, but we also need support from all government institutions in reconstructing the existing homes of displaced families, contributing to strengthening security in their areas, and providing all services and infrastructure until tribal problems.
