A senior government source revealed on Thursday that deterrent measures had been taken against employees who caused the leak of official documents issued by the Prime Minister’s Office to the media.
The source told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the phenomenon of leaking official documents , especially those that did not complete their legal and administrative procedures, caused many negative repercussions on the performance of government institutions as well as damage to the public image of the state."
He added, "This phenomenon has become a tool of conflict between different parties so that documents are leaked for the purpose of projection," pointing out that "this matter also gave way to the circulation of many forged and fabricated books for the same purpose of projection."
The source stressed that "the concerned authorities within the Prime Minister's Office monitored this phenomenon and diagnosed the leaks by some institutions and employees, and the defaulters were diagnosed, and administrative and disciplinary measures were taken against them," pointing out that "the referral of some of these cases to the Integrity Commission, where The number of employees against whom legal proceedings were taken was (61) employees, including (10) with special grades."
